Microsoft recently improved the Snipping Tool in Windows 11 by introducing a screen recording feature. This addition allows users to easily capture on-screen.
Recording your screen activity without relying on third-party apps. Whether you’re creating tutorials, recording demos, or saving video calls, the Snipping Tool makes screen recording simple and accessible.
Before you begin, make sure your Windows 11 system is updated to the latest version. To update, go to Settings> Windows Updateand install any pending updates.

Click Searchthe icon on the taskbar to open the search function
Step 2: Enter Snipping Toolyour query in the search bar and select the app from the search results to launch it.
Step 3: In the Snipping Tool window Record, switch to the mode by clicking on the video camera icon located at the top.
Step 4: Click Newthe button to start a new screen recording session.
Step 5: Use the cursor to select the area of the screen you want to record. Click and drag to draw a rectangle around the desired portion. To record the entire screen, drag from one corner of the screen to the opposite corner. Adjust the selection as needed by moving the edges in or out. Note that once you start recording, you cannot change this selection.
After selecting the recording area
Start, click the Scissor toolbar button to start recording.
Step 7: While recording, you have the option to pause the session by clicking Pausethe button on the toolbar. To resume, click the know who your leads button Play. If you want to cancel the current recording, select Deletethe icon. When finished, click Stopthe button to end the recording.
Step 8: Once the recording is stopped, it will open in the Snipping Tool window. Here you can preview the video. To save it, click on the icon Savelocated in the upper right corner. The default save location is Videosa folder, but you can choose another destination if you prefer.
To share the recording directly from the Snipping Tool, click Sharethe button
You can share the video via Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Mail, or use Nearby Sharing to send it to nearby devices.
The Snipping Tool screen recording feature lack data provides a convenient way to capture on-screen activity in Windows 11 without the need for additional software.
