The “ There was a problem resetting your PC ” error message in Windows 11 can be frustrating, especially when you’re trying to resolve persistent system issues. Luckily, there are a few methods you can use to fix the issue and successfully reset your PC.
1. Restore the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) image
Corrupt or damag WinRE images may prevent the reset process from completing. Restoring the WinRE image may resolve the issue.
Step 1: Open the Start menu bc data china and type Terminalin the search bar. Right-click on the Terminal application and select Run as administrator .
If User Account Control (UAC) prompts you to grant
Step 3: In the Terminal window, click on the down arrow icon and select Command Prompt from the menu.
Step 4: Type or copy and paste the following adobe color cc command, then press Enterto disable WinRE:
reagentc /disable
Restart your computer.
After rebooting, open Terminal again as administrator (see Steps 1 and 2).
At the command prompt, type or copy and paste the following command and click Enterto re-enable WinRE:
reagentc /enable
After completing these steps, try restarting your computer again to see if the issue is resolv.
Run SFC and DISM scans
Running System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) scans can repair corrupt system files that may be causing the reset error.
Open the Start menu and search for Terminal. Right-click on the Terminal application and select Run as administrator .
Click Yes on the UAC prompt to allow administrative access.
In the Terminal window, click the down arrow and select Command Prompt .
Enter the following command lack data and press Enterto run the DISM scan:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Step 5: Once the DISM scan is complete, enter the following command and click Enterto run the SFC scan:

Step 6: Once the scan is complete, restart your computer and try resetting your PC again.
