I don keep an exact count of the websites I’ve set up, but I recently cross the 500 mark and counting.

Until recently, it was very common to configure forms that required a country selection field, and despite having done so many times, I couldn’t find the list. Back to Googling.

And when I found the information, the format I had didn’t work for me; it was numbered, with additional text, etc.

There is often confusion with territories that are not officially recogniz as countries (I mention some below) or because some are counted twice.

If you count the countries by continent, there are seven nations that are repeat , as they are located between the two continents. They are known as the Eurasian nations .

Other territories and country names to consider

There are some territories or countries that you may school email list need to include on your form that are not list.

I’ll clarify this for you and write it in this section so you can keep it in mind:

State of Palestine: its recognition is limited; it is not a fully independent country.
Greenland: is part of Denmark.
French Guiana: It is not a country, it is an overseas territory belonging to France.
The Netherlands: It appears on both the English and Spanish lists of countries, but with its official name “Netherland”.
England , Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland : Not actually official countries, these four constituent nations belong to the “Unit Kingdom.
